- Motivation
Every English or Welsh charity has this ID, referred to colloquially as their "charity number", which they must display on their website, literature and correspondence, by law. en.Wikipedia has 960 of these, in templates.
OpenCharities (Q26210320) also makes them available as linked open data, (e.g. [1] for the example given above), and which can be matched to other IDs used there. They use them as their URL slugs, so an alternative formatter URL is thus http://opencharities.org/charities/$1

- Support. I'm rather surprised we don't have this already, but it appears that we do not. Thryduulf (talk) 20:36, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- Support. Absolutely. Thank you for proposing this Andy. Could the identifiers be imported en masse from opencharities.org? If so could we import other fields such as date registered, charity commission classifications, and perhaps number of trustees (this one wouldn't be a straight copy and paste)?
