עברית: לפני הקמת זיו-אב הנדסה בשנת 1990, אמיר, סא"ל במיל', מילא בצה"ל תפקידי מפתח בפיתוח מוצרים בחיל ההנדסה, ונטל חלק בפיתוח טנק "המרכבה". לאחר מכן, עסק בניהול הפיתוח בחברות ישראליות מובילות, כמו "כתר פלסטיק" ו"אופטרוטק" ("אורבוטק") .
אמיר זכה למוניטין עולמי הודות לשיטה שפיתח במסגרת עבודת הדוקטורט שלו בנושא גיבוש קונספטים אופטימאליים, וכן, הודות למספר רב של המצאות ופטנטים, כמו גם פרסומים בעיתונות מקצועית ומדעית. אמיר הוא חבר במועצות המנהלים של חברות שונות ובוועדות מקצועיות וממלכתיות. החל מספטמבר 2011 אמיר מונה לתפקיד המדען הראשי של משרד התחבורה. |
