English: Capel y Beirdd, Ynys Capel y Beirdd (Poet's Chapel) is a Welsh Baptist place of worship. It shares its pastor with Capel Uchaf, Chwilog, Pencaenewydd, Llwyndyrys and Penuel, Tyddyn Sion. The cause was established in 1822. Its name is associated with two local classical poets, master and pupil, Robert ap Gwilym Ddu of Betws Fawr SH4639 and Dewi Wyn o Eifion of Gaerwen SH4642, although the latter was associated with the chapel only for a brief, and unhappy, period before his death and the former was never a member of any church/chapel. Even so, Capel y Beirdd has become a place of pilgrimage both for Welsh Nonconformists and lovers of Welsh poetry.
