Description
Deutsch: Gedenkstele für Jacob Andresen Siemens. Die Inschrift lautet: DEM GROSSEN HELGOLÄNDER JACOB ANDRESEN SIEMENS GRÜNDER DES SEEBADES GEWIDMET VON DEN DANKBAREN EINWOHNERN UND FREUNDEN DER INSEL HELGOLAND, DEN 9. AUG. 1926.

Der Gedenkstein wurde anlässlich der 100-Jahr-Feierlichkeiten in Auftrag gegeben und auf einem eingefriedeten Platz vor dem Nordseemuseum aufgestellt. Da man zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits keines Bildes dieser Person mehr habhaft werden konnte, ließ man in den Gedenkstein die typische Figur eines Helgoländer Fischers meisseln, der die Ideale des J. A. Siemens verkörpern soll. Die Eröffnungszeremonie fand am 30. Mai 1926 statt.

Nach der Zerstörung der Insel Helgoland konnte das Ehrenmal aus den Trümmern geborgen werden und fand seinen neuen Platz im Nord-Ost-Gelände beim Eingang zu den Kuranlagen.
