Am 6. April 1966 steuerten die sowjetischen Piloten Hauptmann Boris Wladimirowitsch Kapustin und Oberleutnant Juri Nikolajewitsch Janow ihr defektes Kampfflugzeug in den Stößensee und verloren dabei ihr Leben. Durch ihren selbstlosen Einsatz vermieden sie eine unabsehbare Katastrophe im nahen Wohngebiet. Diese Tafel gilt dem Gedenken an das Opfer der sowjetischen Soldaten als ein Zeichen der Menschlichkeit in Zeiten des Kalten Krieges. (German)
6 апреля 1966 года советские летчики капитан Борис Владимирович Капустин и первый лейтенант Юрий Николаевич Янов направили свой неисправный истребитель в Штёсензе и погибли. Благодаря своим самоотверженным усилиям они избежали неисчислимой катастрофы в близлежащем жилом районе. Эта мемориальная доска посвящена памяти о самопожертвовании советских солдат как знак человечности во времена Холодной Войны. (Russian)
On 6 April 1966, Soviet pilots Captain Boris Vladimirovich Kapustin and First Lieutenant Yuri Nikolayevich Yanov piloted their defective fighter plane into the Stößensee and lost their lives. Through their selfless efforts, they avoided an incalculable disaster in the nearby residential area. This plaque is dedicated to the memory of the sacrifice of the Soviet soldiers as a sign of humanity in times of the Cold War. (English)
