  •  Comment I am not American and have not knowledge of the Illinois Center. Can you enrich Illinois Authors Directory (Q128791224) with when it was founded, etc? To give people some idea how stable this database is and their identifiers are? --Egon Willighagen (talk) 05:12, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestion, it actually lead me to revise the Illinois Authors Directory item (Q118496276) quite a bit. On closer examination, this is an authority file/database maintained by the Illinois Center for the Book (Q128794239). Illinois Center for the Book has been around since 1985 and is affiliated with the Illinois State Library and US Center for the Book (which is affiliated with Library of Congress, our big de facto national library). I can't find for sure when the Illinois Authors Directory was created, but the Wayback Machine has a copy of the webpage (when it was called Illinois Authors Wiki) from April 2008. Hope that helps, happy to try to address any more questions or concerns, and thank you for the feedback! --Emwille (talk) 14:09, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support -- Supporting identifiers from the Illinois Center for the Book seems like a great way to surface and link Illinois authors, emerging writers, and writing related to the state. It is a valid and reliable source as an affiliate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress Kind data (talk) 13:26, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support -- I like seeing here that this database is under the aegis of and supported by the office of the Illinois Secretary of State. Sample author pages seem very informative and clear and contain links to other information sources and sites. --Sradovsk (talk) 13:56, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
