Motivation
[edit]An important thesaurus for object naming and classification, used by museums across Canada and the USA to catalog historical and ethnological collections of human-made objects. Bilingual English and French, includes illustrations for many concepts. Focus on objects relevant to North American history and culture. Actively maintained by Canadian Heritage Information Network (Q3456610) and the American Association for State and Local History's Nomenclature Task Force. Public release of RDF, JSONLD and perhaps CSV dumps is planned for Jan 2020. Getty is coreferencing it to AAT (12384 are already coreferenced), and we'll coreference to BNF and culture.fr Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 16:59, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- We'll leverage the AAT matches and only put out the remaining concepts for human coreferencing. However AAT coreferencing has fallen behind: currently about 20,273 of 50,825 concepts are coreferenced (not counting 3k structural AAT nodes like Facets), which means 40% of AAT is coreferenced. So the community also needs to take care of that --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 07:46, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- On a first cut, there are only 3525 WD-NOM links harvested through AAT. I think a lot of the NOM-AAT links are in new AAT concepts that https://tools.wmflabs.org/mix-n-match/#/catalog/48 doesn't have. --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 11:42, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
