Motivation

[edit]

An important thesaurus for object naming and classification, used by museums across Canada and the USA to catalog historical and ethnological collections of human-made objects. Bilingual English and French, includes illustrations for many concepts. Focus on objects relevant to North American history and culture. Actively maintained by Canadian Heritage Information Network (Q3456610) and the American Association for State and Local History's Nomenclature Task Force. Public release of RDF, JSONLD and perhaps CSV dumps is planned for Jan 2020. Getty is coreferencing it to AAT (12384 are already coreferenced), and we'll coreference to BNF and culture.fr Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 16:59, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
