Comment Something I noticed while looking into these IDs (creating this proposal) is that there is no ID overlap between books/documents/audiobooks/snapshots/magazines. For example all of these links actually lead to the same book item:
- https://www.scribd.com/snapshot/254663574
- https://www.scribd.com/issue/254663574
- https://www.scribd.com/audiobook/254663574
So perhaps this property is better off as a more generic "Scribd Item ID" (not book specific), however I'm unsure how best to implement that. Notably there are also author IDs which do have overlap (e.g. https://www.scribd.com/author/254663574). --SilentSpike (talk) 13:28, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

- Comment Would it be more correct to say the domain is version, edition or translation (Q3331189) rather than book? MartinPoulter (talk) 13:50, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
- Comment A good question and something I'm personally unsure of. I still find the modelling described on WikiProject Books hard to wrap my head around and have yet to see it used entirely as described. --SilentSpike (talk) 15:19, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
- I guess it should match the domain of ISBN-10 (P957) since items in this library have those, which looks to include version, edition or translation (Q3331189), book (Q571) and light novel (Q747381). --SilentSpike (talk) 15:26, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
- Info I've now updated this proposal to reflect that this identifier actually applies to more than just books. I went with the "doc" URL for the formatter as it seems the most neutral (however, all are valid). Additionally I've corrected the domain - from what I can tell the state of book items on Wikidata is a bit of a mess since rarely do edition items actually get created and properties are dumped onto the work item (as such the examples aren't 100% correct). --SilentSpike (talk) 09:28, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
