Motivation

[edit]

Standard Citation Forms for Rare Materials Cataloging (SCF) is an online reference source from the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (Q7294494) of Association of College and Research Libraries (Q4809736). It identifies and describes bibliographies and other reference sources used by the rare book community, and provides standardized strings for use in citing these sources. Each entry contains a standard citation form, previous or alternate citation forms, bibliographic information about the reference source, and external links to more information and a digitized version if applicable. Linking to this source from Wikidata will provide additional information about the Wikidata version, edition or translation (Q3331189) and a method of citing it that is frequently used by the rare book community.
