Motivation
[edit]The effective temperature is one of fundamental physical parameters needed to place a star on the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram --Ghuron (talk) 11:05, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

- Comment Have you considered using temperature (P2076) with the qualifier determination method or standard (P459) effective temperature (Q854050)? criterion used (P1013) may be a better qualifier to use for this, but anyway I don't really think we need a new property just for this unless you have a good reason that approach won't work? - @ArthurPSmith: temperature (P2076) is designated to be used as qualifier only, such radical extension of scope would require special discussion. We definitely can have one property for temperature and various qualifiers for conditions or determination method or standard (P459), but at the moment we have separate properties for melting point (P2101), boiling point (P2102), decomposition point (P2107), sublimation temperature (P2113), flash point (P2128), autoignition temperature (P2199), non-operating temperature (P5067) and heat deflection temperature (P5682). So it looks like current consensus favors more properties rather then less. --Ghuron (talk) 16:39, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
- Support ok, that's reasonable I guess. ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:32, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Done @Ghuron, ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2, ArthurPSmith: created as effective temperature (P6879). Enjoy! --99of9 (talk) 00:58, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
