flexural strain at break
[edit]Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Natural science
Description | the strain of material specimen after break in a flexural test |
---|---|
Represents | flexural strain at break (Q57594575) |
Data type | Quantity |
Template parameter | This proprety request is part of the project of creating an infobox for materials |
Domain | material (Q214609) |
Allowed values | Any number. Qualifiers : temperature (P2076) (shall be mandatory), under pressure (P2077), determination method (P459)... |
Example 1 | polycarbonate (Q62246) → 4 percent (Q11229) [1] |
Example 2 | acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (Q143496) → 4 percent (Q11229) [2] |
Example 3 | bauxite-filled epoxy composite (Q57594719) → 4±3 percent (Q11229) [3] |
Source | ISO,[4], [5] |
Planned use | Creating an infobox for materials on the french wiki (this is the first material proprety requested, others will be needed) |
See also | elongation at break (P5811), ultimate tensile strength (P5479) |
Motivation
This is a secondary mechanical properties that is however often found in 3D printing material datasheets and other datasheets of materials that are meant to work in flexion. --Thibdx (talk) 22:36, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
Discussion

- Support I assume this should be linked via "see also" with elongation at break (P5811) and ultimate tensile strength (P5479)? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:08, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, it will be nice. Here is the 3 dimensional table of all these properties : Wikidata:WikiProject_Materials/Properties#Multidirectional_mechanical_properties. I'm currently trying to find out the ones wich are actually used and have a related ISO/ASTM/EN... standard. --Thibdx (talk) 21:28, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
