Motivation

A service many local libraries subscribe to that allow patrons to loan audiobooks, comics, ebooks, movies, music, and television episodes. The catalog looks to be currently 1.2 million items is a little under 700,000 currently available titles. Dispenser (talk) 02:24, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

Discussion

• I'm worried about several issues:
  • This website abuses Javascript, making it impossible for most applications to use or check their content. I guess this will also make us very difficult to add the corresponding IDs to Wikidata by using tools like Mix'n'match. Are there some alternative, Linked Data friendly URIs?
  • This website seems to have several bugs or unfinished features. For example, I get no titles when filtering by artist.
  • Should these IDs be used for books, for editions or for exemplars (see Wikidata:WikiProject Books)? If for exemplars, even if for editions, this property may not be so useful.

  • I believe it is built with w:AngularJS, so it uses a REST API (example)to retrieve data and display it. Dispenser (talk) 17:15, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

  • Maybe the label should mention that it's for title ids, not artist ids (given abian's comment about otherwise unrelated functionality).

  • Regards 2, the proposal is for title ids. Titles are removed due to expiring licensing agreements, similar to Netflix ID (P1874). Dispenser (talk) 20:46, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
