residual stroke count
[edit]Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Lexemes
Description | (qualifier) number of residual stroke in addition to radical of Chinese character |
---|---|
Data type | Quantity |
Allowed values | non-negative integer |
Example | see above main property |
Source | "as" parameter of wiktionary:Template:Han_char |
Motivation
I'm not sure Chinese characters should be Q item or Lexeme, but this property is important to describe Chinese characters. Okkn (talk) 16:02, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
Discussion
- Support the first, not sure about the second. Can't it be automatically counted? NMaia (talk) 10:57, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- @NMaia: We can’t determine the stroke count of some radicals, such as w:en:Radical 113, because they have multiple types of shapes (示 vs 礻). So we can't automatically count the number of residual strokes. --Okkn (talk) 11:36, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- Comment how does the second proposal relate to Wikidata:Property proposal/stroke count ? ArthurPSmith (talk) 14:51, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: For example, stroke count of "叶" is 5, and the stroke count of Kangxi radical 30 (⼝) (Q95058) ("口") is 3 (see: File:口-bw.png), so the residual stroke count of "叶" is 2 (= 5 - 3 = stroke count of "十"). Furthermore, the radical of both "神" (stroke count 9) and "祟" (stroke count 10) are Radical 113 (Q144674), but the stoke count of Radical 113 (Q144674) can be 4 ("礻") or 5 ("示"), so the residual stroke count of "神" and "祟" are both 5 (= stroke count of "申" = stroke count of "出"). --Okkn (talk) 16:00, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

- Support obviously. As for the previous proposal, it should be extended to all CJKV character, not just Chinese character. VIGNERON (talk) 09:40, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support @Okkn, NMaia, ArthurPSmith, Was a bee, VIGNERON, Deryck Chan: already done?!. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 07:29, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Liuxinyu970226: What do you mean? --Okkn (talk) 07:31, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Okkn: stroke count (P5205) is created, so should I mark this proposal as done? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 07:33, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Liuxinyu970226: stroke count (P5205) is different from properties proposed here. --Okkn (talk) 07:34, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

- Support. Prefer Q-item datatype for radical, since most radicals already have items. Deryck Chan (talk) 09:33, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
