Motivation
[edit]When creating qualities, I noticed we don't have any way to relate qualities with the processes that lead to them.
We have has cause (P828)/has effect (P1542) but these are used very erroneously. For example, mercury poisoning (Q408089)has cause (P828)mercury (Q925) makes a relationship between a process and the object that causes that process. On the other hand, malaria (Q12156)has cause (P828)Plasmodium malariae (Q133969) is making a relationship between a state and another object that causes that state.
The property proposed seeks to be a subproperty of has cause (P828) to describe the relationship between qualities and the processes that cause them.

- Weak oppose running to fatigue seems rather random and not precise, might as well result in "sweat" Nepalicoi (talk) 08:34, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- I would prefer it to remove "running (Q105674) → fatigue (Q9690)" as an example and focus on the relationship inherent in the other examples. Maybe we can change the description to focus on them? ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 15:24, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- I don't get why cooking (Q38695) → cooked (Q104439289) could be expressed via has effect. BrokenSegue (talk) 05:13, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @BrokenSegue It could be, but this property replaces that use with a narrower scope of use. See Motivation. Lectrician1 (talk) 19:46, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- as long as we keep this to obvious patterns like those in the examples I'm fine with it. BrokenSegue (talk) 05:53, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

@Arbnos @Nepalicoi @ChristianKl @BrokenSegue I have changed the relationship direction of the proposed property. Please reconsider. Lectrician1 (talk) 04:35, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
