Represents | trade union membership rate (Q106039800) |
Data type | Quantity |
Example 1 | Sweden (Q34) → 0.89 point in time (P585)"2010" source: [1] p52 |
Example 2 | Sweden (Q34) → 0.90 point in time (P585)"2009" ibid |
Example 3 | Sweden (Q34) → 0.90 point in time (P585)"2008" ibid |
See also | unemployment rate (P1198) |
Motivation
[edit]This is an important social indicator IMO. The rate varies a lot between territories. It is described in detail e.g. here [2] in the Swedish social science community.
I propose it to have the same constraints as unemployment rate (P1198)--So9q (talk) 09:33, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Support can we maybe do it more general - Salgo60 (talk) 09:35, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Comment Don’t we usually write percentages in decimal notation? So 90% should be written as 0.9, c.f. proportion (P1107). Belteshassar (talk) 10:01, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing it out, fixed.--So9q (talk) 13:04, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support, an important property for demographics.--Arbnos (talk) 00:59, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support This is great! We should make sure not to conflate this with bargaining coverage. For example, France has 7% union density, but obviously a higher than global average for bargaining coverage. What would be the data sources for these things? ILO maintains such numbers Shushugah (talk) 14:26, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Comment Note, I merged union membership into existing item trade union membership rate (Q28134331) Shushugah (talk) 14:30, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
