Q108552423 and Q117285460[edit]

Hi @Lymantria!

May I know why the articles for Kalicube and Kalicube Pro were deleted due to not being notable? We're quite confused why because it has been there for so long and it was only deleted now.

I did see the bulk request for deletion of articles regarding Kalicube (which is another confusion as we did not create some of those articles).

May we talk about this in more detail, please? We are not aiming to spam Wikidata with not notable articles, we try our best to create articles for those who we think have enough notability online to have one. Another thing is what do we need to possibly have the articles above restored?

Thank you so much for your help on this! Knowledgepioneer10 (talk) 05:36, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The items you mention did not fulfill our notability criteria, especially serious and independent sources were lacking. For instance Crunchbase or having an X-account is not sufficient. You might want to read Wikidata:Guide to requests for undeletion. --Lymantria (talk) 12:48, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lymantria,
Hope you had a great weekend!
I'm sorry, I did read everything in the notability criteria article but what I didn't understand is what sources are considered to be independent and serious?
Are profiles from government websites considered to be serious? Do we need news articles about Kalicube and Kalicube Pro to be published in order to have better sources? Like with Wikipedia?
Please let me know, I'm more than happy to pass the notability criteria for Wikidata as I'm still unsure as to how it's being gauged. From what I could tell, it's an automatic pass if you have a Wikipedia article and that's all what I could see as a concrete source.
if there's anyone that I should be in contact with to learn more about this, please do let me know too!
Thank you so much for your help! Knowledgepioneer10 (talk) 08:02, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It might be worth to read Wikidata:Guide to requests for undeletion, as it explains which sources are consideered weak/strong. A wikipedia article indeed is always sufficient. Note that wikipedia does have notability criteria as well (and in most languages more strict than wikidata). --Lymantria (talk) 10:47, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lymantria,
Thank you for letting me know, it's really helpful!
But if it wouldn't take too much of your time, would it be possible for you to cite some reputable and strong sources at the top of your head? I really just wanted to know if there are sources which all admins deem as notable/strong as it seemed different for each admin.
All in all, I just want to help in keeping Wikidata up to date as it is helping us as well and wanted to talk about maybe a collaboration where we all could benefit from? Please let me know if the administrators would be open to this kind of partnership. I would respect your decision, whatever it may be.
Thank you so much! Knowledgepioneer10 (talk) 02:59, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I feel not comfortable in giving sources that all admins would consider strong/sufficient to show notability. There may be some differences among admins, those can always be discussed. It may be the content of the link that makes the link not suitable, for instance if it is posing many superlatives and lacks any form of criticism - those may be called advertorials or puff pieces and may come from websites that have articles that are considered strong as well. So I cannot help you here. --Lymantria (talk) 13:12, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
