label[edit]

I created this with the label as proposed, but the label "directions" from an earlier proposal could be more suitable.
--- Jura 07:56, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the current English label, Jura, is terrible! Jared Preston (talk) 15:11, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I changed into "directions" again and placed the original label as alias. Lymantria (talk) 06:11, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lowercase?[edit]

Should the first letter be in lowercase (unless it's a proper noun, or a regular noun in the case of German)? The rationale should be the same as the one for keeping labels lowercase, I think. NMaia (talk) 07:13, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@NMaia:, yes I think it should follow the same rules as others string (like labels and descriptions). Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 09:07, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Would it possible a constraint that enforces this practice? NMaia (talk) 09:09, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The example on Q17464832 shows some complete sentences in Dutch, which should start with a capital. I suppose there are more of those cases in several languages. Lymantria (talk) 09:46, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a Wikidata usage instructions (P2559) to this property to clarify usage. NMaia (talk) 10:53, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think Lymantria meant that it should be uppercase if it's one or several full sentences. Even in English, these couldn't start with lowercase. --- Jura 11:08, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@NMaia: Indeed, and I therefore very much object to your change of the example on Q17464832 and disagree with the content of your Wikidata usage instructions (P2559). Lymantria (talk) 15:25, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for the misunderstanding. But why is it different whether it's one or more sentences? NMaia (talk) 22:00, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
