Checks when adding data[edit]

Which items to add as value?
use the generic item, not a language specific one.
Sample: French (Q150) uses pluperfect (Q623742). Qualifier statement is subject of (P805) can be used to link pluperfect in French (Q26708903)
You may notice that some sitelinks on the generic item are language specific and need to be moved to a new item.
Sample quote
"he writes" (in the corresponding language and tense) with the qualifier quotation (P1683) should be included
Sample: for French (Q150) with value pluperfect (Q623742): "il avait écrit".
If you want to add full sentence for further context, include "he sees" as activity before he writes and/or "he reads".
Labels of items used as values
you might notice that some labels are incomplete or inaccurate.
The label of the item used as value in the language (e.g. French label of pluperfect (Q623742)) should match the term used for the tense in the language (e.g. French on French (Q150)). If a more general form is used, the item used for the qualifier P805 should include it.
If necessary, correct the labels and/or split part of the content into a new item.

Constraints[edit]

Discussion[edit]

Should this be added here? or Should we have a separate property? If we have a separate property, should we still list tenses for each mood?

In the meantime, there is has grammatical mood (P3161). While initially, I started including conjugations with P3103, maybe these should use a separate property.

Quotation qualifier[edit]

I have removed the requirement to include quotation (P1683) as qualifier. Firstly, the property is not used correctly, because this is not quotation but example. A different property, similar to usage example (P5831), would be needed for this purpose. Secondly, I am not sure whether such examples are appropriate in Wikidata. Qualifier quotation (P1683) is still included in the list of allowed qualifiers, but IMO all uses of it should be replaced with better alternative or removed. — Robert Važan (talk) 01:49, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
