Need to revise the structure of the ID?[edit]

@Stryn, Innocent bystander, Pigsonthewing, ArthurPSmith: After discussing with the authorities maintaining this ID, I was told that the body of the link is an ID called "Järvinumero", lake ID. It is also used in database Hertta of the Finnish Environment Institute. The authority ID will be renewed over the course of this year, and the current Lake ID not be in use anymore, only for historical purposes (or matching the new IDs). I propose this property be renamed Järvinumero (fi) / Finnish Lake ID (en) and stripped to include only the number part. The link to Järvi-wiki will then be constructed in the following way: http://www.jarviwiki.fi/api/gotopage.php?&code=14.211.1.001 (for lake Päijänne). – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) (talk) 18:02, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No objection from me, as there are only three instances in use. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:47, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
sounds good to me. If those links are good now you can make the changes immediately. ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:49, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info. Do you know is there some database from where we can import those ID's to Wikidata? --Stryn (talk) 18:52, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I did not get that but I will ask. I will make note of it here. It is not yet possible to import more than just the ID, but licensing issues will be looked into as well. – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) (talk) 10:05, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done I hope this will make sense. Should there be a regular expression constraint for the value? – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) (talk) 10:35, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I added a few constraints. Regarding format, would ^\d{2}\.\d{3}\.\d{1}\.\d{3}$ be about right? –Kooma (talk) 23:05, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
