Diosdado P. Macapagal was the ninth Philippine President. Known as the ‘poor boy from Lubao’, his presidency is remembered for its Agricultural Land Reform Code, abolishing tenancy and launching a land-to the-tiller program, known as the Act of Emancipation. He is the emancipator of the Filipino farmer. (English)
