Czech label NKČR AUT[edit]

I cannot find this label anywhere. I am removing it. --Dan Polansky (talk) 13:04, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Czech label NKC[edit]

NKC is a database different from AUT. Compare:

This entity is for AUT. --Dan Polansky (talk) 13:20, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requirements on aliases[edit]

My understanding on the requirements on aliases is that they should not be a result of brainstorming or personal shortcuts but rather actual terms that can be found in use in reference to the object.

From Help:Aliases: "All of the other common names that an entry might go by, including alternative names; acronyms and abbreviations; and alternative translations and transliterations, should be recorded as aliases. " Italics-mine. Disclaimer: the page is not a formal policy, merely a quasi-policy or the like.

Even if the requirement for attestation in use for aliases is lifted, some minimum standards should be upheld, not just "I like it" or "I find it convenient", I think. --Dan Polansky (talk) 18:15, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Vojtěch Dostál. Hello, would you like to discuss rather than just reverting? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:30, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ No, I decided to refrain from further actions. Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 08:57, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

English label NL CR AUT[edit]

I have entered this label as a convenience tool despite its apparently not being attested in use. The label is formed naturally, and label "NL CR" is attested in reference to the issuing library per evidence in wikt:cs:NL CR. A similarly formed label to serve as a model is "NLI AUT", and this one is officially used per e.g. the web page title of http://uli.nli.org.il/F/?func=find-b&local_base=NLX10&find_code=UID&request=987007550799605171.

I think this exception from attestation requirement is acceptable since "AUT" alone does not uniquely identify this particular authority file. --Dan Polansky (talk) 07:33, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
