@Andreasmperu:: check out the discussion on country (P17). That property is accepted for former nations. New Spain certainly was part of Spain. Runner1928 (talk) 18:04, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- I am aware of the discussion, and no, this property is not for former nations; or at least, not in the way you think. This item was never part of Spain, but of the Spanish Empire (Q80702) or even the Crown of Castile (Q217196). The use of P17 is clear for geographical feature (Q618123), but historical entities are a different case. Andreasm háblame / just talk to me 19:13, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
