Notable work[edit]

I created the claim: notable work (P800): automaton (Q787116), and got reverted by another editor. I can't currently understand why: this is, after all, the defining quality of this set of people. -- The Anome (talk) 10:30, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Sapphorain: can you please explain what is wrong with the edit I made? -- The Anome (talk) 09:49, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The declaration notable work (P800): automaton (Q787116) is adequate for a particular individual, like Pierre Jaquet-Droz (Q123683), one of whose notable work was indeed automaton (Q787116). To put such a declaration on the page mechanical automaton engineer (Q30134437) is like inserting the declaration notable work (P800): bread (Q7802) on the page baker (Q160131): it is perfectly useless. Note in addition that the property notable work (P800) is an instance of (P31) Wikidata property for items about people (Q18608871), which is described as a "Wikidata property for items about specific persons". Sapphorain (talk) 10:54, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
