Soprano: A voice type; not an occupation[edit]

The description for the item clearly indicates that the item is an instance of (P31) voice type (Q1063547). Yet, the item is also stated to be a profession (Q28640) and has therefore occasionally been used in occupation (P106) statements. According to the International Standard Occupation Classification occupations are defined by the kind of tasks performed in one's usual work. Occupations are further grouped by skill levels ((which is defined in part by the level of formal education required) and by skill specialization. No matter the voice type, the tasks and skills for singers are essentially the same, and singers are all part of the same ISCO 2652 occupation classification. Voice types are therefore not professions and should not be used on occupation statements. Rather, voice types should be used for voice type (P412) statements in conjunction with an occupation statement with a singer (Q177220) value (or any other value consistent with the constraints for voice type (P412)). --Fjjulien (talk) 03:03, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
