About reverting two edits made by user:Gobonobo [1]: (1) an item cannot be a 'class of chemical compounds' and a 'functional group' in the same time, we have different items for classes and for functional groups; (2) are we sure that azo compounds are organonitrogen compounds (i.e. always have at least one nitrogen–carbon covalent bond)? I have changed nitrogen compound (Q3685323) to organic nitrogen compound (Q77899525), but organic nitrogen compound (Q77899525) is not the same as organonitrogen compound (Q55739694). Thanks Wostr. I think you're absolutely right in the first case. I based the second edit on the categorization at Commons, where Category:Azo compounds is a subcategory of Category:Organonitrogen compounds. There is also this site, where the taxonomy tree lists azo compounds as a subclass of organonitrogen compounds. The site for Fisher Scientific has the same categorization. gobonobo + c 02:00, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but we have also ChEBI to the contrary. I'm just wondering if we have either an authoritative definition, or we have any known azo compound that does not have N–C covalent bond. I will look into this, but it may take some time. Wostr (talk) 09:48, 6 February 2020 (UTC) What's the problem here, are compounds like [2] are also azo compounds.
