As Denmark is a member of the EU, it shouldn't be catogerized as shares border with the EU. --89.1.201.228 20:14, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It is about a period before 1972 when Denmark wasn't a member yet. --Infovarius (talk) 20:59, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

sovereign state[edit]

Isn't Denmark (Q35) part of Kingdom of Denmark (Q756617) and only Kingdom of Denmark (Q756617) should be a sovereign state (Q3624078)? --Jobu0101 (talk) 16:03, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

For the same reason I did this edit. --Jobu0101 (talk) 14:46, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this should be changed. Opkna (talk) 21:06, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Although this is true, I would propose to change the name of Q35 to Kingdom of Denmark and Q756617 to Denmark in order to add the sovereign state tag to Q35 again. Mainly because otherwise it is super horrible to iterate over all sovereign states with the sparql query service. For example almost all danish people are linked to Q35 with country of citizenship. But I am super new here, can I do this on my own or are other steps required? Geldbogen (talk) 18:20, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Literally any instance of Q + two digit numbers are sovereign states. Administrative subdivisions usually have a far higher number. Geldbogen (talk) 18:22, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We cannot just redefine an item. I agree that a lot of references to Denmark (Q35) should have referenced Kingdom of Denmark (Q756617) instead, but not all these references are wrong. If we were to swap the two items, there would still be a lot of bad references. Let's just fix the bad references (this process can be automated).
In particular I don't think Denmark (Q35) is a valid value for country of citizenship (P27). To the best of my knowledge, you are a citizen of the Kingdom of Denmark, not of “mainland Denmark”, Farao Islands or Greenland specifically.
Also, I think it is wrong that Kingdom of Denmark is an alias for Q35.
The number following “Q” only reflects in which order the items were created. Two-digit numbers are not reserved for specific topics. Scotland (Q22) is an example of another two-digit non-sovereign country. --C960657 (talk) 17:58, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
