With regard to marking Guy as a slave trader: This is because of his investment in the South Sea Company. I would not apply this term to every investor in the company, but to quote the source: "Guy had an exceptionally large stake. He possessed over £45,000 worth of South Sea Company shares which he astutely sold at inflated prices shortly before the bubble so famously burst. It was from this that Guy ‘made his vast fortune’. So this fortune was made from a company whose main purpose was to sell slaves to the Spanish Colonies."
