Name of this condition[edit]
I just changed this item name from "autistic disorder" to "autism". "Autism" is the most common name for this condition and the name used in the majority of Wikipedias. I noted "autistic disorder" as a alternative name. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:45, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Under this item is a confusion of terms - autism spectrum and traditional childhood autism (Kanner syndrome), and the latter has a separate item: Q1104126. This needs to be sorted out somehow, one item should be for autism spectrum (autism) only, and the other for traditional childhood autism (Kanner syndrome). I don't know if it was a good idea to change the name, because it unfortunately led to chaos. Musp (talk) 21:06, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

Conflict[edit]
The english article is a redirect to Autism Spectrum, which creates problems for Swedish Wikipedia. The reason being that en:Autism Spectrum is connected to Q1436063. It seems like wikipedia sites treats this category differently.
I’ve decided to unlink the Swedish Wikipedia completely from this tag and use Q1104126 for sv:Klassisk autism, as this is what english wikipedia has done. Then I’ll link up sv:Autismspektrumtillstånd with Q1436063.
Should this category (Autism) maybe be merged with Q1436063, since that is what ICD-11 and DSM-V referes to when it talks about Autism, or maybe Q1104126 since that is what ”classic autism” is called.
Another option is to do as english wikipedia has done and make Autism (this data object) just a redirect to Autismspectrum, but in that case, woulnd’t it be better to just merge these two objects here?
I can see how changes to this data-object may cause problems for some languages, since we seem to use the object for different topics, but if the object doesn’t refer to a specific condition in the ICD-11, and different languages use it differently, maybe it’s better to just delete it?
