I've added the word "controversial" to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and I think the word is an important part of the description.

I'm writing this in 2019. While autistic people and loved ones have long raised concerns over ABA, research into side effects is still minimal. Preliminary research shows that the risk of PTSD traits is nearly doubled in autistics who undergo ABA, and it is the subject of a scathing ethics paper detailing numerous potential risks of intensive behavior modification training. Given the high stakes for autistic children, I think it is important to note the controversies in the hopes of encouraging families to make informed decisions. No, this is not the place for this controversy. Only a general description is given here, neutral one. --Gusama Romero </talk> 22:03, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that Wikidata doesn't need to take a side in the debate. This is a place to get basic information, not to sway opinions. I think, in the interest of providing the full picture, acknowledging the existence of a controversy allows people to explore the social context of ABA if they wish to research it. If i read the english Wikipedia article correctly, it's only considered controversial as used in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders. Considering how many other disorders it's used to treat i feel like your description was misleading. --Trade (talk) 23:48, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
