Apparently lived in Germany until 1891 (with though at least one concert in the US in 1880...), emigrated in 1892 with his violist (I believe) brother (who headed his department of Stokowski's orchestra and can be seen @ the relevant portion of stokowski.org) - died here in 1956, I have not yet found evidence that he became a US citizen between 1892 and 1956, or when, though I rather assume so...
