Hey I noticed a Q you worked on and merged was conflated. What criteria was used to associate this Q with the UNC professor? Was it the INSI as that looks like its conflated and Q107357264 was conflated as well with the VIAF identifiers being on the wrong Q and should have been moved instead of merged. There are many indications that there are two distinct people due to publication topics and names. The ORCID prior to your merge and additional statement was associated with the name "MARIA FRANCESCA TRIPODI" vs "Francesca Bolla Tripodi" for the UNC professor. I've split Q89734769 into Q113553602 and Q113553601 and reported the conflation in the INSI which I hope will untangle that conflation of identifiers across other identifiers that include that ID and may prevent future conflation and merges. Would you be willing to double check my work following Help:Conflation of two people for splitting the two people. The INSI should remain on Q89734769 until conflation is resolved. @Wolfgang8741: Huh! I disagree. All of the identifiers on Q113553602 (Maria Trancesca Tripoldi) point to authorities with records about Francesca Tripoldi. I followed many of the links in both records & they lead to a professor at UNC. Furthermore the ORCID ID on Q113553602 leads to 0000-0001-5680-6896, & if you expand the Also known as MARIA FRANCESCA TRIPODI you get Source: FRANCESCA TRIPODI 2017-03-06. Maria Francesca Tripodi clearly is professionally known as Francesca Tripodi. It seems clear to me that the described at URL values point to pages that have images of the same person. I may not have been clear. I created Q113553602 so it should only contain Maria Francesca Tripoldi also known as Francesca Tripolodi. I agree that ORCID 0000-0001-5680-6896 is associated with the Maria Francesca Tripodi. The conflation was introduced to Q89734769. I disagree that the images are of the same person, but the images share similar appearances. The main identification for conflation the publications, subjects, and timelines are not overlapping (speaking as a PhD candidate myself in the Information field and familiar with UNC Chapel Hill iSchool and information field. I hope the following lays out how I came to this conclusion. I landed on this Wikidata ID issue starting from a recent book by the UNC professor and was looking to link the book to the OpenLibrary Author ID. If we focus on upon the information from the publications and personal websites alone of the individuals both sharing the "Francesca Tripodi" name this the following is how I found diverging fields of study and why I tried to differentiate the two adding their given names "maria and bolla" respectively in new Qids given its been a great amount of time and an identifier has an issue. Q113553602 (Maria Francesca Tripoldi)'s education listed on her profile from the the associated organization's to ORCID 0000-0001-5680-6896 on the associated org does not intersect with the resume of Q113553601 (Francesca Bolla Tripodi) from her personal website. This is why I suggest that there is conflation in Q89734769. The point in which the conflation began was with the addition of the personal website of the UNC professor Francesca Bolla Tripodi while the ORCID is for Maria Francesca Tripoldi at [1]https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q89734769&direction=next&oldid=1459738049 and the merge history of Q107357264 - https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q107357264&direction=prev&oldid=1459740562 added the additional fields about the UNC professor (now represented in Q113553601) to Q89734769 which looking at the Q history is for different person now represented in Q113553602. Can you provide the links that you are seeing that would support that Q113553601 and Q113553602 are the same Francesca Tripodi as represented in Q89734769 and which publications are "pretty similar"? Additionally I would like to highlight looking at the timeline of publications from the 0000-0001-5680-6896 and the resume. The first publication of Maria Francesca Tripoldi is DOI: 10.1111/J.1742-1241.2007.01506.X - "The influence of caregiver burden on sexual intimacy and marital satisfaction in couples with an Alzheimer spouse" in 2008 while the resume of Francesca Bolla Tripodi would put her in her masters program in Communications Communication, Culture, and Technology at Georgetown University. The publishing subject areas of "sexuality" vs "information systems and participatory platforms" in sociotechnical topics are not the same nor similar.
