Categories[edit]

Could we centralize this: | Requests for deletions= Category:Archived requests for deletion | Requests for permissions= Category:Archived requests for permissions | Project chat= Category:Project chat archive | Contact the development team= Category:Contact the development team archive | Category:Archive so not every language have to implement the same code? I also would prefer if it would be possible to add the category by an extra statement in the Template so it could be easily added manual. Also it would be create if the template would check if there is a archiv (sub)index and if in this template there is a category included and if so to copy this category by default (add a parameter to stop this if somebody don't want this). --Sk!d (talk) 07:45, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it would be nice to centralize that, if possible.
  1. Maybe some cases are no more useful, since a "category" parameter has been added to the template and many archive pages have been updated, see wd:Bot requests#Fix calling of Template:archive.
  2. A new case would be useful for Category:User talk archive‎. Thanks in advance.
  3. A problem remains : several pages are in two archive categories, like "Project chat/Archive/*" and "Contact the development team/Archive/*".
Note: since this template was created, parameter 1 is for the link of "actual page" in the top box. --Eric-92 (talk) 01:46, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
For problem 3, I have made a change in the template (not sure it is correct).
I also created a few subcategories like Category:Forum archive. --Eric-92 (talk) 04:32, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Now it seems OK. A category could be created later for Wikidata:Property proposal/Archive/1 and the like. --Eric-92 (talk) 18:09, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
