Hello are you sure you are calculating the altitude correctly? In item Q23821187 you added 373 m as the altitude, no reference given. But according to GeoNames the altitude is 599 m. Please can you check your math? Thanks

That value came from cebwiki, from template:geobox
Ehmmm. But cebwiki states correctly that altitude is 599 m. It seems you have misunderstood the parameter "height".
In fact no, sorry. You are reading from parameter "Gitas-on Koordineyt" where in fact you should be reading from "Highest point"
Well I did make the bot getting |elevation=
and I didn't see |highest_elevation=
before.
Would it be possible to update values acquired from |elevation with values from |highest elevation? :) Especially for mountains imported from ceb wiki.
This wrong altitute has impact in it.wiki. I'm removing P2044 inserted by this bot :)
That's good but are you check the value if it correct or wrong?
We have not seen many pages created by this bot that has a corrected P2044 value :|
e.g.: 380 m instead of 485, 344 instead of 155, 397 instead of 427, 366 instead of 493, 419 instead of 523, 512 instead of 487, 432 instead of 343, 356 instead of 414, ...
We are ready to strip that property only from the newly created pages by this bot limiting at 3 July 2017 for now. :)
Oh .. I think I will write bot to check the difference between cebwiki and geonames.
If it can help srtm3
from: http://www.geonames.org/getJSON?id=3170969 :) I suggest to insert the URL itself as reference.
We can start right now fixing the altitude if it diverges from a certain threshold from GeoNames (and only if it has no references). We can set 10 meters as threshold I think. It's important to add also a reference. My two tests: Q31804957 and Q31804969.
Tell me if it's OK for you to proceed :)
That is great, thank you :)
