Some workflows I follow when working on WikiProject Video games

Creating items

• Petscan for uses of Template:Infobox video game (Q5623861) without matching items, in several Wikipedias (see Wikidata:WikiProject_Video_games/Tasks)
  • Either, match to an existing item (using Duplicity)
  • Or, create the item directly (using Duplicity)
  • Or, create the item using Mix’n’match creation candidates fast search (and then add the sitelink)

  Output: new items with at least -instance of (P31)video game (Q7889) (and maybe some IDs)

Processing items without P31

• Petscan for uses of Template:Infobox video game (Q5623861) without P31/P279 items (see Wikidata:WikiProject_Video_games/Tasks)

  Output: items with at least -instance of (P31)video game (Q7889)

Adding identifiers

• Harvest Templates for uses of identifier templates (eg Template:Lemon64 game (Q14385486)).
• Watch Listeria-based Wikidata:WikiProject_Video_games/New_video_game_items, order by missing identifier column

  Output: items with some identifiers, some of which will trigger constraint violations (eg missing platform (P400)

• Watch Listeria-based platform-specific lists (eg Wikidata:WikiProject Video games/Reports/Platform/PlayStation), add missing dedicated-identifiers.
