birth name (P1477) in Danish[edit]

Hi Rodejong,

Why would the birth name of Douglas Adams (Q42) and John Paul II (Q989) be in Danish?

Each wiki files the name as they pronounce and/or write the name. This is because of the Lua Modules!
Actually, this property is only for the person's native language. Have a look at the samples on birth name (P1477).
You could add a qualifier for transliterated versions, but shouldn't add it in every language (or in Danish on every person).

I only add what others already do also, like the French and the English. They add the name also in their own language. Maybe Dipsacus fullonum could explain it? As he wrote the modules for Wikipedia in Danish. Kind regards,  Rodejong  💬 ✉️  20:40, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
I don't know why I am mentioned here. I am not able to explain Rodejong's edits. But it would be helpful if birth name (P1477) was better described. I see no mention at Property talk:P1477 that it is only for the person's native language. But it would make using the value in Wikipedias much simpler if that is true and adhered to. Jura, which qualifier do you suggest to use to give transcriptions of birth name (P1477)? Best regards, Dipsacus fullonum (talk) 21:18, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
