「説明文」における句読点について

はじめまして、知識熊 (talk)と申します(日本語話者という前提でお話します)。「説明」において句点やピリオドを付けて終わっておられますが、Wikidataでは句点やピリオドを付ける事は推奨されておらず、そういった編集にはdescription ending with punctuationというタグが付いてしまいますので、なるべく控えて戴けると助かります。あと、Wikidataでの「説明」はWikipediaをモバイルで閲覧した際にページ上部の記事名と導入部の間に表示される仕組みになっているので、なるべく簡潔に纏めて戴けるとWikipediaのモバイルでの閲覧者に利するかと思います。知識熊 (talk) 10:10, 30 May 2022 (UTC)

知識熊さん、ご指摘を頂き、ありがとうございます。日本語の「。」と、英文などの「 . 」を使用しないようにいたします。ただ、お聞きしたいのですが、何故それらが付けていけないのか。推奨されないのか。理由はあるのでしょうか？。ただ、短く1文字でも減らす為なのですかね。この様なルールは何処かに書いてあるのでしょうか？。よろしかったら教えてください。ありがとうございました。--BY7679 (talk) 14:41, 30 May 2022 (UTC)

スミマセン、タグの一覧ページには「ソフトウェアによる定義」としか書いておらず、理由については分かりません（この事から恐らくWikidataのソフトウェアによる問題という事は推測されますが…）。もし気になるのであれば、井戸端で聞いてみては如何でしょうか。知識熊 (talk) 22:28, 30 May 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the item Q113990844. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Hi there, you created this item but I do not think it is well-defined. At the moment Q112500703 is said to be an instance of oration, as though it was a particular individual speech. But its description suggests it might be the concept itself rather than an instance of oration. (I do not speak Japanese, though, and it looks to me as though the ja wikipedia page no longer exists.) Happy Science countries

What is you rationale for this revert: Special:Diff/2039849990? As I said in edit summary, this data is dubious and unsourced. Out of these 30 countries happy-science.org mentions branches only in 2 countries. Also if country (P17) is used then it isn't clear in what way this organization really is related to all these countries. In organization items noramlly the P17 value is for the country where an organization (it main headquarters) is based. If an organization has branches in other countries then these branches are really separate organization and it would be clearer to place the data about each branch organization into separate items. As also mentioned in edit summary, if an organization just operates in multiple countries then it would be cleaer to link these countries using operating area (P2541) property. 2001:7D0:81DB:1480:146F:FDB6:E8B0:C047 08:56, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
