Roads task force[edit]

Hi! I'd like to invite you to the Wikidata:Roads task force, an effort to coordinate adding all the roads to Wikidata. --Rschen7754 21:21, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What will I have to do in this task force? --Feuerst (talk) 21:44, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, it's just a bunch of checklists, so we can tell what's been done and what hasn't been. Stuff that's checked off is for enwp though (we do need to figure out a way to mark stuff off for other languages). --Rschen7754 21:48, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I will look what I can do, however my main aspect is the dewp and adding descriptions in German. -- feuerst – talk 22:03, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You may want to consider adding lists like the U.S. part of the task force has, so that others can go back and add labels and descriptions for different languages. I'm considering changing the template so that we can indicate when different languages are done. --Rschen7754 20:55, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good idea. How do You create the lists? -- feuerst – talk 21:19, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There's a template {{I}} that links to the item for the English Wikipedia article that was linked. It would probably be easy to make one for the German Wikipedia. I then take the lists from categories and use a text editor's find and replace to convert it to the right format. --Rschen7754 21:57, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've created this template to replace {{Done}} in the task force pages, to allow us to specify which languages have descriptions and to provide some infrastructure for the first part of phase 2. User:Rschen7754/sandbox has a test case. Does this look good? --Rschen7754 03:28, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good work, looks fine! I think it would be very useful to seperate te different languages. I have only a short question: What do you mean with AUX? -- feuerst – talk 09:06, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If there's a spur route, then it might be useful to link the parent route. I'm hoping to start a discussion soon as to what fields to include, so that everyone's on the same page going into the first part of phase 2. --Rschen7754 09:11, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I think we should use your template. What about different languages? Imho French would be helpful, User:Gz260 did some work in French. -- feuerst – talk 13:34, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The template supports about 20-25 languages. --Rschen7754 17:16, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Road item proposals[edit]

Please comment at Wikidata:Property proposal#Roads. Thanks! --Rschen7754 05:02, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For phase 2, here's a bot that might be helpful for adding some repetitive statements. --Rschen7754 23:04, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please use "de" instead of "DE" in your edit summaries? "DE" means Delaware here in the U.S., so it's kinda confusing. Thanks. -happy5214 16:05, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No problem -- feuerst – talk 16:10, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Interpreter/translation request[edit]

Hey Feuerst, we seem to have a bit of a situation going on at WT:USRD. Things are getting pretty heated, and I think part of the issue is the language barrier. Could you take a look at the discussion and see if you can help smooth things over? I'd appreciate it. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 22:14, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Correction, that's Wikidata talk:Roads task force. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 23:10, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
