Austro-Hungarian citizenship[edit]

Hi! Regarding this edit, I write that the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy had no citizenship. It was a common monarchy of two countries, Austria and Hungary, but each country had its own citizens. For Austrians, the element Cisleithania (Q533534) is used to denote citizenship between 1867 and 1918, for Hungarians, Hungary (Q28) (edit). Bye! Pallor (talk) 09:57, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Vlaamse Kunstcollectie (VKC)[edit]

Why are you removing the Vlaamse Kunstcollectie (VKC) (Q2542010) on multiple paintings? These paintings were and maybe are in that collection. Multichill (talk) 22:08, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Despite its name, "Vlaamse Kunstcollectie" is *not* an art collection, but a collaboration of musea in Belgium (Flanders) under the legal form of a VZW. Q2542010 is defined as a museum network and service provider.
There used to be a kind of catalogue of a virtual "collection" containing the work of arts of the member musea on the website of Vlaamse Kunstcollectie. It seems that Spinster has created a lot of wikidata items based on these references in 2016. These references are now 404 - the website of VKC does not contain a catalogue anymore.
Every work of art in this virtual collection is actually referred to by the inventory number of the member collection, for example those with "SM***" (Stedelijk Museum) are in Mu.Zee, "***GRO" are Groeningemuseum. It is redundant to say they are in two collections.
I have removed the reference to VKC in april mainly on works by James Ensor because that was my point of interest at that time, and maybe some others in Mu.Zee. I stopped when I saw it was about thousands of items. Henxter (talk) 23:56, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Al deze kunst hebben we (Sandra en ik) op Wikidata gezet als onderdeel van Wikidata:Flemish art collections, Wikidata and Linked Open Data. Ik word er niet zo blij van dat je nu stilletjes van een deel van de schilderijen de collection (P195) en de link hebt verwijderd.
Voor verwijderen van collection (P195)->Vlaamse Kunstcollectie (VKC) (Q2542010) valt wel wat te zeggen, maar dan moet er eerst consensus zijn en dan consequent worden gedaan. Daar wil ik wel graag de mening van Sandra horen.
Het verwijderen van links is heel erg not done op Wikidata. Dat moet je echt niet doen. Je kan de rank op deprecated zetten, zie Help:Ranking. Lees die pagina nog eens goed door want dit soort bewerkingen kloppen niet. Met deprecated rank zeg je dat het werk nooit in deze collectie heeft gezeten. Zie ook Help:Evolving knowledge. Als ik me goed herinner, dan hebben we die data toegevoegd via meemoo, die de data (via de musea) aanleverde. Wellicht kunnen @Alina data, @Sam.Donvil, @Beireke1 en collega's hier licht over doen schijnen. Spinster 💬 18:14, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
dag iedereen, ik denk dat jullie wel gelijk hebben dat de kunstwerken niet echt in de collectie van het Vlaamse Kunstcollectie zich bevinden. Dus het verwijderen van de statement collectie (P195)->Vlaamse Kunstcollectie (VKC) (Q2542010) is eigenlijk logisch. Ik zou de links naar de VKC-online catalogus bij beschreven op URL (P973) wel laten staan. Zo kan men achteraf nog achterhalen wat er aan data vanuit VKC is aangeleverd en wat van musea zelf. @Multichill als ik je goed begrijp zou je het liever dan structureel overal verwijderen? Tenzij er een andere soort property waar we deze info kunnen overnemen? De 'virtuele collectie' queries zoals we deze toen hier hebben opgenomen, hebben dan eigenlijk geen zin meer. @Alina data: De werken in de virtuele collectie kan je nog steeds achterhalen, bijvoorbeeld https://w.wiki/76m$ . Waar staan je queries? Dan kunnen we die bijwerken
Als dat gedaan is dan kunnen we collection (P195) -> Vlaamse Kunstcollectie (VKC) (Q2542010) in een keer verwijderen. Dat zal ik ter zijner tijd wel doen met verwijzing naar Talk:Q2542010.

@Multichill ok dank je! de VKC zou inderdaad weg kunnen uit 'collection'. Bedankt om dit te regelen.
wat betreft de dode described at URL van VKC: er zou binnenkort een nieuwe collectiewebsite komen van VKC en ik denk dat die links weer actief zullen zijn.
wat betreft de dode desrcibed at URL van de musea zelf: daar kan ik jammer genoeg niet op antwoorden. dit is de verantwoordelijkheid van de erfgoedinstellingen die dienen te waken over hun duurzame links. een deel daarvan zou moeten werken en zal op een bepaalde moment terug moeten werken... Een deel daarvan zal wellicht later naar een landingpage op de website van een museum verwijzen met toelichting dat er momenteel niks beschikbaar is over dat object. Een doelstelling van die links was natuurlijk ook om een object te identificieren online (zoals een MSK-identifier Property:P2511), maar niet altijd om ook iets erover te publiceren. Dat had ik al door. Veel van de mismatchen komen voort uit verkeerde of ontbrekende inventarisnummers in andere sites als RKD (dikwijls verwijzen ze naar een of ander catalogusnummer). Die probeer ik dan recht te zetten. Verkeerde inventarisnummers zet nu wel "afgekeurde rang". Het is soms wel zoeken als er onduidelijkheid is over de schilders. Ranks[edit]

Hoi Henxter, deze bewerking viel mij op. Dat is niet correct, hiermee zeg je dat dit schilderij nooit in deze collectie is geweest. Je moet alleen de huidige collectie op preferred zetten. Zie Help:Ranking#Deprecated_rank en Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Provenance. Als je dit ergens anders ook hebt gedaan, zou je het dan willen herstellen?
