Merging items[edit]

Hallo Jmarchn,

For merging items, you may want to use the Merge.js gadget. It helps you nominating and makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

Proteins and genes should not be merged[edit]

Hi, I noticed a merge on a gene item and a protein item. Although related they are distinct concepts and as such should not be merged. A protein is a product of a gene. Merges like this leads to incorrect knowledge since it links gene properties to protein properties and vice versa. I took the liberty to revert the merge to the previous state of separate gene item and a separate wikidata item. --Andrawaag (talk) 13:37, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Would you like to contribute to a WikiProject COVID-19 ?[edit]

Hello,

I saw you contributed to COVID-19 (Q84263196) and I was wondering if you would be interested in helping to create a Wikidata WikiProject COVID-19.

The goals would be initially (of course, they can be changed):

create a data model for instances of disease outbreak (Q3241045).

monitor the quality of the pages about national outbreaks listed in 2019–20 COVID-19 outbreak by country and territory (Q83741704).

curate the wikidata items relevant for describing the outbreaks and the virus itself.

curate and improve the information on Wikidata about scientific articles regarding the coronavirus (similar to the Wikidata:WikiProject_Zika_Corpus).

think and develop ways to process these items to improve access to information (for example, via automated articles in languages that currently do not have pages about country-specific outbreaks).
