Move to mainspace[edit]

This is ripe enough to share. It will get lost if not moved to mainspace, and the sooner the better. Blue Rasberry (talk) 02:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Needs Wikidata examples[edit]

We are on Wikidata and I think that the Wikimedia community has earned the right to showcase its own projects as leading examples of open data in the world. Wikidata is the best at something even if at this point we have not articulated what that is. This guide explains open data, but in guides, I think it is good to include 3-5 example projects which anyone can use as practical conversation starters in explaining any concept. Even though much of the rest of this guide is about open data in general, I think we should pull examples to illustrate concepts only from Wikidata.

I hesitate to dictate which projects should become part of the canonical narrative of examples which everyone learns and uses as discussion aids, but somehow, we should select some projects. John, since you are publishing the guide, perhaps you could be first to suggest what this page might include as part of the default narrative and explanation? Small correction[edit]

Great overview, thanks for writing it!

At the Benefits part, I think instead of "strengthening citizens" it would be better to say something like "strengthening citizenship" or maybe even better would be strengthening citizen's engagement" Adam Harangozó (talk) 20:57, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
