Welcome to Wikidata, Tom (LT)!

Wikidata is a free knowledge base that you can edit! It can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

  • Introduction – An introduction to the project.
  • Wikidata tours – Interactive tutorials to show you how Wikidata works.
  • Community portal – The portal for community members.
  • User options – including the 'Babel' extension, to set your language preferences.
  • Contents – The main help page for editing and using the site.
  • Project chat – Discussions about the project.
  • Tools – A collection of user-developed tools to allow for easier completion of some tasks.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on Project chat. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Wikidata.

New properties[edit]

Thank you for supporting ICD-10-PCS (P1690), operations and procedures key (OPS) (P1691), ICD-9-CM (P1692), Terminologia Embryologica (P1693), and Terminologia Histologica (P1694). --Tobias1984 (talk) 12:11, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

P1698 (P1698) is ready. Thank you for proposing it. --Tobias1984 (talk) 10:59, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all your help. I will be proposing more properties in the future. "Precursor" is probably next. --LT910001 (talk) 21:38, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tobias1984, the bot requests page does not seem very active. Have I posted @ the right venue, and do I need to directly contact a user? (Wikidata:Bot_requests) --LT910001 (talk) 21:17, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! You posted the request on the correct page, but people that run bots are a scarce resource on Wikidata. I will look if I can ping anyone who is not too busy. I am always intending to learn how to run a bot myself, but in the coming months I still have a software project that is taking up all my free time. Of course if you know a little programming you could learn it yourself: Wikidata:Creating_a_bot. --Tobias1984 (talk) 21:44, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot Tobias. Like you I will be quite busy in the coming months, one reason I am trying to push this along briskly. --LT910001 (talk) 01:08, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Can you comment in this discussion. Just in case ping didn't work: User_talk:ValterVB#Bot_request --Tobias1984 (talk) 07:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! There are 81 format violations in the Gray's Anatomy dataset: Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P1698. All of them seem to have a prefix of a number and a dot. Do you know what the prefixed number means? --Tobias1984 (talk) 18:18, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Codes in template items[edit]

Hello, Tom. I've noticed this job and would like to comment. Actually templates should not contain any infomation except "main topic". All other info should go to that "main topic". Why do you need constraint violating info at templates? --Infovarius (talk) 05:08, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Infovarius I am assuming you are aware that you are referring to an archive, where the discussion was archived page in November 2020? I am also not sure what you mean when you say this: "templates should not contain any infomation except "main topic". Are you referring to templates here on Wikidata or on the English Wikipedia? What does "constraint violating info at templates" mean? If you are talking about things on the English Wikipedia let's move the discussion there. If those technical terms mean something to do with Wikidata happy to respond here. Looking forward to learning what these things mean :), --Tom (LT) (talk) 08:51, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
