An update from the Sustainability Initiative[edit]

Thank you for supporting the Sustainability Initiative!

Hi, Matiras! Thank you again for supporting the Sustainability Initiative, which aims at reducing the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement. Over the past two years, more than 200 Wikipedians from all over the world have come together to push the Wikimedia movement towards greater sustainability.

What's new?

We are writing you this message because there is great news: The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has finally passed a resolution stating that the Foundation is committed to seeking ways to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. Also, we have created a cool logo and found a nice name for the project which you can see on the right :-)

What's next?

Currently, we are working with Wikimedia Foundation staff to make sustainability a key priority for the selection of a new location for Wikimedia servers in Singapore. Also, we have presented the Wikimedia Foundation with a green energy roadmap to have all Wikimedia servers run on renewable energy by 2019.

Please help!

Let's keep this project moving forward – and there are several ways in which you can help:

  • Ask other Wikipedians to sign the project page as well – this way we can show the Wikimedia Foundation that this is an issue that the community really cares about.
  • Talk to Wikimedians you know about the importance of reducing the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement.
  • Improve and translate the project page on Meta.

If you have any questions, you can contact us on on Meta. Again, thank you very much for your support! --Aubrey and Gnom (talk) 10:00, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

re.[edit]

Hola, @Strakhov:. Me parece razonable.
estatus patrimonial-> "BIC" (rol->monumento)
strakhov (talk) 07:40, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Matiras (talk) 07:53, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Q20617952 & Q38066554[edit]

Hello, you merged these both items, but Joseph Coppens on wawiki (an author and linguist in walloon language, died in 19811970) is not the same person that the one on the fr/nlwiki (died in 1967). Could you please correct this mistake? Regards, Reptilien.19831209BE1 (talk) 09:07, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

PS : there's a lot of wrong informations on idref. Reptilien.19831209BE1 (talk) 09:21, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Authority control[edit]

Hi! I've just noticed that here you have inserted BAV using old Vatican Library ID (former scheme) (P1017) instead of Vatican Library VcBA ID (P8034); it may be due to the use of User:Magnus Manske/authority control.js (the problem has already been reported, but it is still there). I suggest you to use User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers in order to easily and quickly copy authority control IDs from VIAF ID (P214), managing correctly BAV. To enable it you can add to your common.js:

importScript( 'User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers defaultconf.js' );
importScript( 'User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers.js' );

Ask me if you have any doubt. Bye, --Epìdosis 10:16, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Call for participation in the interview study with Wikidata editors[edit]

Dear Matiras,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King’s College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research that develops a personalized recommendation system to suggest Wikidata items for the editors based on their interests and preferences. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I would love to talk with you to know about your current ways to choose the items you work on in Wikidata and understand the factors that might influence such a decision. Your cooperation will give us valuable insights into building a recommender system that can help improve your editing experience.

Participation is completely voluntary. You have the option to withdraw at any time. Your data will be processed under the terms of UK data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018). The information and data that you provide will remain confidential; it will only be stored on the password-protected computer of the researchers. We will use the results anonymized to provide insights into the practices of the editors in item selection processes for editing and publish the results of the study to a research venue. If you decide to take part, we will ask you to sign a consent form, and you will be given a copy of this consent form to keep.

If you’re interested in participating and have 15-20 minutes to chat (I promise to keep the time!), please either contact me at kholoudsaa@gmail.com or kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmmFHaiB20nK14wrQJgfrA18PtmdagyeRib3xGtvzkdn3Lgw/viewform?usp=sf_link with your choice of the times that work for you.

I’ll follow up with you to figure out what method is the best way for us to connect.

Please contact me if you have any questions or require more information about this project.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Kholoudsaa (talk) 16:24, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
