YLE[edit]

I saw you proposal of Yle topic ID (P8309) I have created one Swedish related broadcasts property SVT Play ID (P6817) but would like to convince the Swedish Television/Broadcast people that they should use more linked data and maybe also Wikidata if you have something written about YLE usage please share salgo60@msn.com twitter salgo60 - Salgo60 (talk) 08:02, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Salgo60: I wrote a blog post on Wikimedia.fi a few years back, when Yle started tagging journalistic content using Wikidata. I think the arguments made there are still valid, even increasingly so.
And compared to the situation back in 2016, Yle was quite alone in using Wikidata. But if you look at topic id's now, you find quite a lot of media companies, including for example BBC News topic ID (P6200), Omni topic ID (P3479), Dagens Nyheter topic ID (P3509), DR topic ID (P6849)}, and now also Yle topic ID (P8309).
