Merging[edit]

Hallo QZanden,
When you merge items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It helps with merging, gives the option to always keep the lower number (which is older, so preferable in most cases) and removes the need to file a request on Wikidata:Requests for deletions.

Babel language level wording[edit]

Hi again Q! Random question for you: Do you know where the Babel box language level templates pull their wording from? I can't find it. I noticed what looks like an error to me in the wording of level fr-0, though it might just be slang. If you look at the Babel box on your user page, for example, in the French category it reads "Cet utilisateur a aucune connaissance..." In correct French, it should read "...n'a aucune..." I'd be interested to post a note on the talkpage of wherever that template is pulling its wording. Eric talk 19:52, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The change of the Wikidata page Q28978522[edit]

Greetings QZanden! I am absolutely new to wiki. My goal was to upload a page of my university (RSSU) in Korean language as it is my major in university. So I've translated English version to Korean language and it was super hard, but I've figured out how to first become a translator at wiki and lately how to upload the translation of the page. Consequently, I saw that you've done some change with the page of RSSU, however, I do not understand what is it exactly you did.. Can you please explain the change? Thank you.

@Dojjaang:, welcome to wikidata! I merged that page to Q4398068 because it was a duplicate, that means that both items are about the same object. I would like to ask if you can help doing several other sets of label since we still have ~20 sets of labels left :(

Missing author[edit]

Merging names[edit]

The policy about name is "one string, one item". You can't merge items which don't have the exact same value for native label (P1705). A Korean name in hangul can't be considered the same name as a Latin-script one, even if they share a transliteration. Please read the policies before merging, especially when items were linked with said to be the same as (P460) to avoid wrong merges. @XXN: Yes, it was resolved. The batch has been run by PokestarFan and the query that was above it showed no results as I also explained in my edit adding the resolved-template and therefor I added {{Resolved}}. After twelve days, there was no notice of any action in this section and I noticed the bot who is archiving RfD doesn't recognize the resolved-template so I added the {{Done}} template and the discussion was archived half an hour later. I expected that if the discussion was still useful, in the past two weeks there should be some contribution to it. I don't mind where you put the lists, thank you for adding them! Mayby you could create a subpage like /Possible Duplicates. Don't say too hard they are duplicates, because if a user finds them and think they all should be merged, we could have a big problem with possible uncorrect merges. Have a nice day!
