Q91048833[edit]

I've reverted your edits to Jens Michelsen (Q91048833), where you appear to have conflated two identities. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:25, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Andy Mabbet. Rgds --Stephan Tournay (talk) 13:45, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You added a full year of birth without removing the source that had only his age at time of death. This made it look like the date had been fully substantiated when it really wasn't. Please don't do this. Ideally you'd have cited an actual source but alternatively it would have been better to be open about not citing a source than to leave the source that doesn't have this information up. 1Veertje (talk) 00:33, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 1Veertje, thanks for your response. I took the birthday from the german wiki-article, thought is was ok. In the future I will take more care about this and remove sources that do not cite correctly anymore. Best regards --Stephan Tournay (talk) 10:33, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
pro tip: turn on the DuplicateReferences gadget in your settings so you can copy a reference from one statement to another. 1Veertje (talk) 12:08, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Create / Enrich Objects[edit]

Hallo Stephan Tournay,

--Stephan Tournay (talk) 20:15, 12 March 2021 (UTC)  Support[reply]

IDs from VIAF[edit]

Hi! I see you have been adding some IDs from VIAF ID (P214), thanks for doing this work. You may try using User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers, which allows importing IDs from VIAF in an easy and quick way. In order to use it, you can create User:Stephan Tournay/common.js copying in it:

importScript( 'User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers defaultconf.js' );
importScript( 'User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers.js' );

If you have any doubt, you can ask me. Bye, --Epìdosis 16:49, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mai 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm Eihel. In case you didn't know, descriptions begin with a lowercase letter except when uppercase would normally be required or expected. Essentially, you should pretend that the description is appearing in the middle of a normal sentence, and then follow normal language rules. Most terms would not be capitalized if they appeared in the middle of a sentence. However terms such as proper nouns (e.g. the names of specific people, specific places, and specific titles) should be capitalized. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!  Eihel (talk) 22:53, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Eihel: thanks for the Info. Should I have further questions, I will contact You. Brgds --Stephan Tournay (talk) 21:42, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Automated report of empty item: Q116832604[edit]

Hello, an item that you have edited (and you are the only non-bot editor) is considered empty and will be deleted in 72 hours if it doesn't improve. Your automated cleaner, Dexbot (talk) 12:01, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Have you reported https://lccn.loc.gov/n82232536 belongs to Chemist David Tait to the VIAF? --Bahnmoeller (talk) 18:05, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Bahnmoeller, unfortunately I do not know this option and process. Brgds Stephan Tournay (talk) 05:17, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bahnmoeller Sorry to chime in, I had this user talk page on my talk page for some reason. There’s no use reporting this to VIAF, first because VIAF is mostly an automated service where human interference often does more harm than good. Secondly, the main problem is that the BIBSYS/NORAF entry is conflated, that is, it contains works of both the chemist and the ethnographer (and probably a third person). So the way to fix this would really be to create (or find) a Wikidata item for the chemist and ask the BIBSYS/NORAF people to disentangle their records. User:Kjersti Lie has been a great help on that in the past, so maybe you could ask them to forward your request. --Emu (talk) 14:03, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just saw that the works at BnF are conflated as well. Sadly, their catalogue service hasn’t been working for quite some time. It might be possible to send them an email at corrections.autorites@bnf.fr although I never tried this because I could rely on the correction form on their catalogue. --Emu (talk) 14:07, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

hello Stephan Tournay, thanks for reviewing Élisabeth Lutz (Q274751). regarding to this. First, I'll be happy if you remove the J9U id as well if you are removing the LC. Most of the cases the J9U depend on the LC.
But I don't quit understand. Hörspiele in der ARD seems to be a journal. Might be only one article by Élisabeth Lutz ?. I'm seeing more Élisabeth Lutz in viaf but non of them seem to be qualify. Geagea (talk) 13:40, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Geagea, unfortunately we have quite some different women with the same name.

  • To what I think, this Elisabeth Lutz is different from both before mentioned women, with the same name, regardless what VIAF 94095238 says.
