Flooding

Hi. I've been for a while doing (on occasion) large-scale reverts while cleaning out the backlog at this page, in which I sometimes do 5 to 10+ reverts in as many seconds, which seems like something the flood flag would be useful for, but I also do other edits than reverts, so that would mean that I would have to hand in and re-request a flood flag fairly often. Is there any way to, say, switch the flood flag on and off once it is granted? Thanks, --Jakob Scream about the things I've broken 00:20, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Also, I've been working for a while on adding shares border with (P47) data to U.S. counties, which I calculate will take around 30,000 edits total, but I wasn't sure if the flood flag was allowed for such purposes, so I may as well get further input. --Jakob Scream about the things I've broken 00:30, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

You can turn it off by yourself, but to turn it on for yourself requires at least admin access.--Jasper Deng (talk) 00:33, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Or a crat request each time :/ ·addshore· talk to me! 10:32, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I thought about that, but wasn't really fond of bothering the crats. --Jakob Scream about the things I've broken 12:25, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
There is still the possibility to create an alternate account which gets permanent flood flag. If I remember correctly, Docu had such an account a while ago. Greetings, Vogone talk 12:31, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
That's a possibility. --Jakob Scream about the things I've broken 12:32, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Would it be annoyingly disruptive if I followed Addshore's suggestion ;). --Jakob Scream about the things I've broken 20:03, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
No. Vogone talk 20:04, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
So could I have the flood flag for a few days? --Jakob Scream about the things I've broken 21:12, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes. Vogone talk 22:28, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
How come my edits are still showing up on RecentChanges? --Jakob Scream about the things I've broken 23:06, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
I don't know. You had the flood flag just before posting this message (and you still have it). ·addshore· talk to me! 15:50, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
Weird. I'm guessing you're using the web interface which probably doesn't pass &bot=1 onto the API. I guess rollback isn't bot-able either. Legoktm (talk) 18:42, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
gerrit:71246 will fix this. Legoktm (talk) 00:50, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Botflag for VsBot

Please see the discussion here and requested to grant the flag. --Vssun (talk) 06:34, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

An admin still will need to approve the bot after consensus is clear; please be patient. --Rschen7754 06:35, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
Bot is  Flagged. Vogone talk 16:35, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Thank you. --Vssun (talk) 18:04, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Log-war?

The removal of my userrights (on my request) was reverted 5 days later by some strange reason. Was I confused with somebody else?

I am still active to some extent, so it maybe is useful for you to let me keep the autopatroll-right. But I have strong doubts about the PC-right, since I am not watching or contributing to any metapages any longer. Regards! -- Lavallen (block) 11:01, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

If you want me or anybody else to remove it, just say it. But I won't do it unless you request it explicitly. Vogone talk 23:38, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
Well, I do not think I any longer is updated "regarding the property namespace, datatypes, and related concepts". I do not know how any policy or practice has evolved over the past two months, and given the rapid development here, it's pretty much I've missed. That prevents me now from using this tool, and I therefor do not see why I should keep it. I can ask for it when I feel ready for it again. -- Lavallen (block) 13:36, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Flood flag for Dcirovic

2013-07-13 – Futuretrillionaire → FutureTrillionaire

2013-07-15 – Mateuszek045 → Mateusz.ns

I would gladly do it, but it looks I am not fully qualified yet. If I try, I get a note that the new user already exists. Any advise from the fellow crats?--Ymblanter (talk) 16:32, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
✓ Done
Mateusz.ns -> Mateusz.ns~wikidatawiki
Mateuszek045 -> Mateusz.ns
Please log in with your new user name.
@Ymblanter: The target account was apparently accidentally created before this request, so that a second rename was needed. Vogone talk 16:58, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

User:WYImporterBot

Bot flag please WYImporterBot (talkcontribslogs) ·addshore· talk to me! 07:34, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

✓ Done, though I personally would wait at least a full day before approval, some users did not have a chance to comment on the request.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:06, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
The task is essentially already approved, the only difference is the change of account name. ·addshore· talk to me! 11:03, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

In the absence of objection, I think Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot/VIAFbot 4 can be approved.-Zolo (talk) 07:22, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Approved, and already flagged. ·addshore· talk to me! 07:38, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Inactivity

So that all bureaucrats are aware, inactivity has now been defined as "less than 10 bureaucrat actions in six months". The closed RfC can be found at Wikidata:Requests for comment/Defining inactivity. Relevant policy pages have been updated in English, but do need translating. Cheers. Delsion23 (talk) 15:11, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

This is actually pretty tough, I am not sure we have 40 actions per six months to perform to keep all crats active. May be we should start counting actions to make sure nobody loses their flag just because one of us performs most actions.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:39, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
I was under the impression that it was 10 admin/crat actions combined... --Rschen7754 18:41, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
Combined would not be a problem, but the policy as it is now states "respective" actions.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:45, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
Now I see it has been corrected, thanks Delusion23.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:08, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
