Motivation[edit]

Bantumen's Powerlist is the only yearly list recognizing black people from lusophone countries, for their work and expertise regardless of their professional sector. Including it as an external identifier would be a very important step to increase the visibility of black Portuguese-speaking people in multiple Wikipedias, as the Powerlist itself suggests notability. It could be added to authority control records and infoboxes as well.

Discussion[edit]

Support - this helps confirm a level of notability that can make a number of wiki entries more robust and it is a way to increase visibility for those listed. BlitzkriegBoop (talk) 16:24, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Weak oppose I think "described at URL" is sufficient for this small dataset. Germartin1 (talk) 03:22, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The dataset is small now, but it increases yearly. I believe that "described at URL" would be insufficient since there is no similar way of grouping this set of people, as they come from multiple countries and professional backgrounds. The proposal is not significantly different from other lists of people kept by publications, such as the Vogue List (used as main statement 446 times) or the DJ List (365 times) despite having been created nearly 7 and 4 years ago respectively. •  Strong support Bantumen is a very relevant media platform for the black lusophone community and it has a yearly commitment to award people who are notable in their fields and respective countries. This list has contributed to bring visibility and awareness to important personalities who are usually left out from the global north mainstream media.
