Motivation[edit]

The British Music Collection is the website of the national new music agency, Sound and Music (Q7564741) and contains profiles of UK-based composers and their works. This property, like others listed above that have been created for composers from other countries, would link to useful information about British and UK-based composers.

I have discovered one issue that I am not sure how to deal with: while most links are in the form show above in the formatter URL, some composers on the site have URLs in this form: https://britishmusiccollection.org.uk/node/$1, with the $1 value being numeric. A few examples: https://britishmusiccollection.org.uk/node/65198 and https://britishmusiccollection.org.uk/node/65452. Is there a way for the formatter URL to deal with this difference? @UWashPrincipalCataloger: I've done some digging and all links have a /node/<id> link. The website is written using Drupal, so every page has a node value. However, if the website authors forget to publish a URL to the /composer/<name> space, it can only be accessible by the node link. The problem with the node link is that every page has one, even the non-composer items. It could also mean that page is a draft page and not meant to be publicly accessible. @RPI2026F1 Thanks. For now, it seems best to keep the formatter URL as above and not include this property on composers that don't have that type of URL, and perhaps report them to Sound and Music.
