Motivation[edit]

Patents issued in the US and EU are assigned a classification code in the CPC system. This classification code groups together similar objects for which a number of patents may apply. No formatter URL is available at the CPC website, however the CPC code can be used with Google Patent search (and other sites) to quickly find relevant patents to a class specified in Wikidata.
