- Motivation
Grace's Guide (Q21644420) is a wiki on British industrial history, with emphasis on the digitisation of primary sources, e.g. obituaries. The biographical articles number over 35K.[1] While there are over 100K pages in all, at first sight the category system does not make it so easy to isolate, for example, companies or locations. So there is an argument to have just one ID (rather than making this a person ID). Charles Matthews (talk) 10:38, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Comment Assuming the formatter URLs are the same, better to have a generic property (which I
wouldobviously Support). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:11, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- It's MediaWiki style, omitting the /wiki/ though: so the formatter URL is uniform. Charles Matthews (talk) 17:21, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- Support A useful link to an authorative source. No obvious way to limit to person, and would ideally be able to link to other items, so not only would work to link Watkin George (Q24183384) to here, but also Melingriffith Water Pump (Q24183217) to here. - Changed to have general scope, in accordance with the suggestions made. Charles Matthews (talk) 19:19, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
